Preparing for your visit

To ensure your visit to Glenborrodale is a fun and enjoyable experience we would like you to note a few things that may make your stay more pleasant. Please discuss the following with your group:

•    Please contact the Centre’s Warden, Mike Holman, prior to arrival who will help you plan your stay and ensure you make full use of the activities at Glenborrodale.

•    Glenborrodale is a self catering centre. All groups should bring sufficient supply of food purchased prior to arrival as there are no local shops from which to buy last minute supplies.

•    The Centre has a small supply of clothing suitable for most activities for which a nominal charge will be made. A full list of these items and their respective costs can be obtained from the Warden.

•    Whilst the remoteness of Glenborrodale brings beauty and tranquillity, midges, ticks and other insects can be a nuisance. It is suggested groups bring ample supplies of insect repellent and antihistamines.

•    Please discourage members of your group from bringing any valuable items such as MP3 players, video games etc. Clubs for Young People can not accept liability for any loss of personal items.

•    The Glenborrodale Adventure Activity Centre exists in a small, remote part of the Scottish highlands. The arrival of any medical care, even in an emergency, can take time. It is the responsibility of the group leaders or ensure all young people with medical conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy or asthma travel with the appropriate medication and that they are versed in what to do in case of a problem. All groups must be accompanied by two leaders, one of whom must be qualified in first aid. Clubs for Young People and the Glenborrodale Warden reserve the right to ask for verification of certifications.

•    Smoking and the consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited at the Centre.
